KP was running two children’s homes in Jaffna and Peduruthuduwa which were closed down , and the children who were there were transferred to security centers by the defense Ministry.
The two children’s homes which was run during the war period in Wanni by former LTTE international chain leader Selvaraja Pathmanathan alias KP who is under the security protection of the defense Ministry had been opened once again , according to reports . These homes were closed on a court directive.
The project which is supposedly managing children , according to informed sources from Wanni these homes had been used to collect large amounts of international funds. Besides during the period of the war , because there had been numerous reports of child molestations in these homes, the Mulaitivu district Magistrate Prabakaran ordered that those homes are closed down.
But, suddenly , KP had come along with the army and re opened a home under another name. He had also stated that he is arranging to open six such homes . He had also said , the Govt. has agreed to extend fullest cooperation to him towards this end, sources say.
