Rehabilitated former LTTE regional leader Ram has been taken to the Terrorist Investigation Division custody, the police said.
The Thirukkovil Police received a complaint from Ram’s wife on Sunday that an unidentified group abducted him in Ampara.
Ram was released in 2013 after rehabilitation and was engaged in agriculture in Ampara District. He was a ‘Colonel’ in the LTTE ranks.
He became famous for holding out in the jungles of the Ampara District for several weeks after the final destruction of the LTTE in May 2009
