The Jaffna magistrate’s court issued an order today (June 18), preventing the holding of a protest in front of the town’s main bus stand.
Pursuant to a request by the HQI of Jaffna, magistrate Manickavasagar Ganesharaja ordered that the protestors should vacate the area.
A party called Tamil National Front, led by former MP S. Gajendran, organized the demonstration, against alleged acquisition of land by the government in the north and the east.
