“Because as a man who was raised in Medamulana, I do not do any wrong deeds. I do good deeds as much as possible. I help other people,” he said talking to media persons after taking part in religious activities at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya.
Referring to media reports that Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is conduct a disciplinary inquiry on him, the Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister declared that the party’s Central Committee has no authority to take any action on him.
He asserted that according to the party’s constitution only the President has full authority to appoint or remove anyone and that he would not bow down to anybody, except for action taken by President.
The Minister also defended his recent comments on “breaking the limbs” of “traitors” to country, and pointed out that in the past kings would execute those acting against the country. “The time has come now to do what the kings did then.”
He reiterated that he would stand up against any person betraying the country, no matter what obstacles he faced.
