[BBS responsible for anti-Muslim riots in Aluthgama]
By publicly alining with Rajapaksa regime the anti- Muslim hard line Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) has delivered that total Muslim vote bank to Opposition common candidate Maithripala Senanayaka.
Today at a news conference held today, the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) Organisation said it would give its unconditional support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the upcoming presidential election, reports the Daily Mirror
Over the last 3 years BBS has carried out venomous anti- Muslim hate campaign in Sri Lanka and instigated number of violent attacks on Mosques. The BBS has launched anti- Christian as well as anti-Hindu hate campaigns in Sri Lanka. Its leader Gnanasara Thera is known for using non-civilized abusive language in his hateful speeches.
“The country has to be our priority, not politics. The country is already in danger today. The opposition is filled with puppets. However, the people didn’t vote for this Government to loot the country,” leader of the BBS Gnanasara thera has said. The Thera said they had decided to back the President to save the country from various conspiracies, according to the report.
