Mass Grave excavation at Colombo Harbuor.
The excavation started on 5th September under the supervision of the judge, the professor of archeology Dr. Raj Somadewa and a JMO. Representing CHRD A team of lawyers with lawyer Ranitha, A team from OMP with its ED were also present. FoD was represented by the president and another 3 and FoD was made a representative for the grievance party and a statement was also recorded by the judge.
The earth was removed by police and the team of Dr. Raj somadewa. Some bones were there which were found before.
The case was initiated by CHRD, in the courts.
Some said there was a Dutch hospital, A Dutch torture camp , long, long time ago, under the Dutch rule.
A navy camp and a Police station were also there and the both were famous in keeping detainees in 1989 and during the war.
The excavation will continue for about 10 days.
