President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has retained the Defence Ministry under his purview, reports Ministry of Defence web site.
President’s elder brother Chamal Rajapaksa was sworn-in as the State Minister of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management.
In addition to his State ministerial portfolios, he is the Cabinet Minister of Irrigation.
Thirty five State institutions have been brought under the purview of the Defence Ministry and Homeland Security, Internal Affairs and Disaster Management State Ministry by the new Gazette Notification issued this week.
The institutions under the purview of the Defence Ministry are :
