[Lawyers Protest]
Reports form Colombo says that illegal CJ Mohan Peiris has agreed to resign after the Pope’s visit. Pope’s visit to Sri Lanka comes to an end on 14th January.
He didn’t turn up at the Supreme Court today (12) until the protest by Lawyers for Democracy was over.
Mr. Peiris has expressed his desire to be at the presidential office today but he has been asked not to present.
If Mohan Peris does not provide a letter of resignation form 14th this month today, lawyers collective will launch a continuous protest at the supreme Court premises, a leading lawyer of the LfD told SLB.
