Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says Parliament proceedings will be broadcast live on television from next year.
He said that the relevant authorities are looking into broadcasting Parliament proceedings live and this will somehow be done from next year.
The Prime Minister said that the public will then be able to know who is attending Parliament and who is not.
He said that Parliamentarians must not give priority for other work and put attending Parliament as least important.
Speaking at a workshop in Parliament today, the Prime Minister said that Parliamentarians should also allocate time to meet the public on days other than when Parliament convenes.
He said that if Parliamentarians are unable to attend Parliament then the best place for them is the library. (Colombo Gazette)
