Seven army personnel, three naval ratings arrested under PTA.
Seven army personnel and three naval ratings had been taken into custody under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act since Janauary 14, this year, parliament was told yesterday.
A document tabled by Law and Order and Southern Development Minister Sagala Ratnayake said that four other army personnel and four police personnel, too, have been taken into custody since Jan 14 under the provisions of other laws.
The document was tabled in response to a question raised by UPFA Colombo District MP Udaya Gammanpila.
Asked to reveal the names of those in custody, the document said the names could not be revealed as it was unethical to announce the names of officers whose cases were pending before courts.
