The Bar Association of Sri Lanka states that no useful purpose would be served by the Presidential Task Force for One Country, One Law.
“Task Force would usurp the functions of many institutions established under the Constitution and the law, including Parliament and the Ministry of Justice.” notes the statement.
It further says that appointment of the task force to oversee the work of Ministry of Justice improper and outside the accepted framework of law making.
