Gurusinghage Priyantha alias Neluwe Priyantha a criminal allegedly involved in a number of crimes died when the police task force opened fire on him this morning.
During the interrogation of him , it has come to light that a cache of arms are hidden in the Sooriyakande district. It is reported that when he police went to the venue where the arms were hidden , the suspect had allegedly tried to attack the special task force , whereupon the police had shot him in self defense. The suspect who was injured had died after admission to hospital
The police STF has taken him into custody yesterday morning (03) .
According to the police reports , this suspect has 25 murder charges and has been dabbling in heroin business and distributing heroin.
