Photo Essay: Struggle f the female victims of Micro Finance scams in Sri Lanka

Group of female victims of Micro Credit in Sri Lanka started a fast calling for the “Abolition of Micro Credit” as promised by successive governments.

United Nations’s Independent Expert Juan Pablo Bohoslavsky on the effects of foreign debt and other related international financial obligations of States on the full enjoyment of all human rights, particularly economic, social and cultural rights visited Sri Lanka on 25 February–22 March 2019 and submitted a set of proposals in relation to the issue of Micro Finance in Sri Lanka. All of the recommendations remain unimplemented to date.
