Meanwhile, Asian Mirror last week reported that a certain local government politician of the South who rose to fame due to a toy pistol has asked for Rs. 20 million from presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena’s camp to switch allegiance.
This request had been made to a businessman who plays a key role in Maithripala Sirisena’s campaign. However, the businessman had told the local government politician that the Common Candidate had strictly instructed them to refrain from giving money to ruling party defectors.
