HRCSL launched an investigating on the police attack on NPP protest, in a area there was no court ban

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has initiated  an investigation into the  tear gas and water cannon attack on NPP protest yesterday.
Issuing a statement Sri Lanka HRC says that it has looked  in to the incident where  28 people were injured.
The statement further says that the protest march was conducted in the area under Kompanjaveediya police jurisdiction and there was no court order prohibiting protests in that area.
The Human Rights Commission says that it has requested a report from the Inspector General of Police within 24 hours from today regarding the attack and will start its investigation based on the report.
