Govt. thugs mercilessly assault J’pura students

Two students have been admitted to hospital when a group of thugs in a double cab attacked a group of students of Sri Jayawardenepura University.  When three students had gone to a hotel opposite the University at about 11.00 p.m. yesterday (6th) a group of 6 thugs who had arrived in a green coloured double cab had attacked the students.

The two students admitted to Kalubowila Hospital with injuries sustained in the attack are Udara Lakmal and Anil Shanthe second year student s of the Management Faculty.
 
The group of thugs arrived in the green coloured double cab bearing registered number HC 2152, the incident was complained to the police post at Kalubowila Hospital but the police refused to accept the complaint said a representative of the Students’ Council.

The students say university authorities had deployed security sections to threaten students from yesterday morning and the attack on the group of students was a continuation of the act.

As there was tight security in the area outsiders could never unleash an attack point out students adding that the savage attack could have been carried out by the security sections.

When inquired a spokesman at Kalubowila Hospital said two students have been admitted with injuries but declined to give more details.
