Information Regarding the CID Summons Issued to Mr. Vairamuthu Kulandhaivel
Mr. Vairamuthu Kulandhaivel has received a summons from the Colombo CID (Criminal Investigation Department) requesting him to appear at the Colombo CID office and provide a statement regarding the above-mentioned matter.
According to the information provided by a survivor, of the 187 individuals who were taken by the Sri Lankan Army in the Saththurukondan area on 09 September 1990 and never returned home, 186 were reportedly massacred. Based on this information, Mr. Vairamuthu Kulandhaivel submitted a written complaint to the Kokkuvil Police Station in Batticaloa District, requesting that excavations be conducted at the site believed to be the location where the massacre took place, namely the land where the former Saththurukondan Army Camp was situated.
Among the 186 individuals reportedly killed, 10 were members of Mr. Kulandhaivel’s own family, including his father, mother, younger brother, younger sister, three children of his elder sister, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
