Homagama Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake yesterday ordered to further remand Bodu Bala Sena organization General Secretary, Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera till February 16.
The Thera was remanded till yesterday in connection with an alleged threat on Sandya Ekneligoda. Lawyers who appeared for the aggrieved party told court that Sandya Ekneligoda is a witness in the Ekneligoda abduction case. They cited that the Magistrate’s Court can not grant bail for an individual who was allegedly involved in threatening and intimidating a witness under Victims and Witnesses Protection Bill.
The Magistrate considering the submissions by the aggrieved party ordered both the parties to make written submissions.
