Sri Lanka: Rajapaksa & his loyalists brand Constitutional reform as federalist folly

Speaking at public rally held in Nugegoda on 27 this month former president Rajapaksa said that “We will oppose this fraudulent new Constitution. The motive of the new Constitution is to appease the Tamil minority in their quest for political independence.”  ( Mahinda Rajapaksa  face book) Further he said that t the Government’s bogus constitution will be brought up in order to divide Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile speaking to reporters at a press conference held in Colombo on 29th Rajapaksa loyalist National Freedom Front (NFF) Deputy Leader Jayantha Samaraweera said that government members are eyeing to being a part of a ‘drama’ in order to establish a federal country. He also said that the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is behind the drafting of the new Constitution and the whole country is aware that it is going to be a Federal Constitution, he added.
